LeBasse Projects, in partnership with Downtown Santa Monica Inc. and the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs office launched ROAM, a series of temporary art installations spanning the Third Street Promenade from Triangle Square to Wilshire Blvd.
Designed by Andrew Schoultz, “Tipping Point” is a colorful and engaging installation that has become a temporary visual landmark in Santa Monica. Comprised of a series of large painted columns, the piece visually looks as though it’s fallen over in a similar fashion to dominoes cascading. Each “domino” has it’s own color gradient that transitions within each section as well as the installation overall.
Built to withstand months of public interaction, viewers are invited to touch, lean on, gather around and crawl underneath the piece. Schoultz invites visitors to connect with the work, on view from May — August 2018 at 120 Colorado Blvd Santa Monica, CA.
